It is the first time I have encountered Baby A being sick for 1 week. It is kind of weird that her temperature goes as high as 40 degree celcius but only at night. Day time, she feels a bit warm but within 37 to 38 degree celcius. It was definitely a painful, sleepless week for us. Every night, I pray that her fever won’t come back and that I’d rather be the one that’s sick instead of her.
It was something I don’t want to go through again. We couldn’t send her to daycare because of her temperature. So happened it was also a busy week at work. I could only take half day leave while I clear some of the work in the morning.
She was also superbly and extra sticky like a koala bear when she was unwell. It breaks my hear to see her being so weak and helpless.
I brought her to the clinic after 2 days (3 nights of fever and given paracetamol) as I was worried if this is something more than just a normal viral fever.
So the doctor said that it was actually not that serious if her fever only comes at night! I was happy to hear that but it also means we cannot do anything until her fever is gone by itself. I suspect that she was teething as her gums were a bit swollen as well.
Help from parents
After taking 1.5 day of leave, she was still having fever. I seek help from my parents and asked them to help me look after Baby A in the day time. She was so tired that she just sleeps all day.
Really thankful to have my parents nearby and that they willingly support and help us take care of Baby A. Thank you Mom & Dad!
After exactly 6 nights, her fever went off. She is back in school now all happy and chirpy!
