Yes, a good pair of shoes will not only take you to good places but also protect your feet. Baby A started walking, actual real steps without support during our first trip overseas. It was Baby A’s first trip overseas and first time walking on her own! This girl enjoyed herself so much and I am going to share with you why I think a good pair of shoes is essential for babies, especially at the initial stage. There were 2 pair of shoes that we got for Baby A. Both very different but yet very suitable for the each of her “walking” journey as a baby. I will share with you and hope you will get your baby a good pair of shoes too.
Before our trip
Baby A’s feet are larger than her age group, that is what I believe. 2 days before we left for Singapore, daddy decided to buy a new pair of shoes for Baby A. Reason being: We have never really bought her a pair of shoes given she cannot really walk yet and some other shoes we got from our friends have heavy sole which makes her look funny when she tries to walk – more like uncomfortable.
We were at H&M in 1MK and saw these really nice pair of baby shoes which we think is perfect for Baby A. Why?
- It is not white! Doesn’t get dirty so easily (or mommy doesn’t need to wash it as often)
- The sole are not thick or heavy. It will feel like her own feet and she will not look funny when she walks
- It looks trendy, I totally love it.
- It comes in Baby A’s size!
So this is her first time wearing it and at this point she wasn’t really walking on her own yet – still need support.

During the trip
During our trip in Singapore, the 2nd day itself she decided to walk on her own. In fact, it wasn’t like she was taking slow steps but she was literally just trying to run! Watch the video on her first walk while we were in Singapore at at friend’s house.
After that, there were just more walking and exploring – Baby A and her H&M shoes.

I think my next thing to do is to get a camera that can capture movements! All the photos turned out quite blurry because she was walking and I couldn’t get a nice shot!
When we return
When we came back and I was going to wash her shoes, I realised that she has walked so much in that 4-5 days we were in Singapore. Her shoes were in such poor condition. We decided that she need a real pair of good walking shoes for baby. We went shopping and we found it at Clarks. We fell in love at first sight, so did Baby A! The shoes we got her is called Little Glo, they are babies pre-walking shoes and more information about the shoes can be found here.

What is the difference between both shoes?

Price difference: The H&M Baby Shoes is RM49.90 whilst Little Glo from Clarks is RM139.
At the end of the day, both shoes served very different purpose and is suitable for Baby A throughout her walking journey. We love both pairs and so does she. Can’t wait for the next time we go shoe shopping – for myself.
